A trip to the hot springs is a classic harem comedy staple and Kanokon has a tendency to take harem moments and go even more wonderfully over the top.  This episode proves to be no exception and we are treated with an obvious duel between Chizuru and Nozomu.  But even better, a duel emerges between Chizuru’s mom and Chizuru.  We ended up with an even more shota-central theme to this episode.

Of course we get treated to Chizuru and Nozomu in the hot springs….

Seems like the plot will get thicker in the future…and by thicker, I mean the consistency of a nice vinaigrette.  After being treated to world class melonpan and world class DFC, Chizuru’s mom makes her move on Kouta.  What makes this great is just how far they take it with her actually grabbing for and stroking his manhood for a good couple of seconds.  Kouta’s lack of struggle concedes the point that he is really just a MILF hunter and the shy boy routine is just a superficial exterior.

Perhaps the funniest moments in this episode were the fact that Kouta gets hopped up on Chizuru’s mom’s Nine-Tail Love Brew and gets all hot for Nozomu, who promptly attempts to take perfect advantage of the situation.

Did I mention I’m a fan of Nozomu? Well, if you were not before you should be now! Ha.  The other great moment of this Love Brew tragi/comedy is when Tayura learns of the brew’s capabilities and immediately runs off to get Asahina to drink it.  Yet, upon drinking several cups of the brew, Asahina simply turns into the happy/slurry drunk that she is.  Poor Tayura, he’s the one I’m actually pulling for in this whole ridiculous show, ha.  He also attempts to spy on the other girls in the middle of the episode, only to get a face full of monkey by showing up to the wrong outdoor hot spring.

Despite all of Chizuru’s attempts, Kouta only comes back to her once the full effect of the love juice has worn off.  He even gets the balls to tell Chizuru to leave him and Nozomu alone which of course causes a heartbroken Chizuru to break down.  Ha, its always the same with characters in shows like these, such insecurity!! Then again, this is a comedy in which nothing should be taken too seriously.

A bleeding discount? O_o for who and have you been charging before?

The supporting cast was also strong in this one with Chizuru’s mother of course leading the way but the other girls from school had their moments as well.

In the end, as may well be expected, the potion wears off and life returns to what constitutes normal around there.
